Day 45 - Dreaming With A Broken Heart (John Mayer)

John Mayer has been on my lists several times, and for good measure: that voice like none other. No one does a heartbreaking ballad the way this modern genius does them. He is arguably one of the most brilliant musicians of our time. He makes you swoon whether you like it or not. John Mayer reminds me of the musician about whom Roberta Flack sung in her seventies classic, Killing Me Softly. I get what she was singing about when I listen to this genius perform. The lyrics of Dreaming With A Broken Heart tell about what is likely a break-up, but I hear them and think of my sister who I now can only see in my dreams until someday we should meet again. And, truly, waking up is always the hardest part.
