Day 21 - Now And Forever (Carole King)

Right from the opening note of this song, I am transported back to 1992. It’s difficult to explain what that means, except to just push through and talk about the aspirations insinuated in this song. Now And Forever, by the timeless Carole King. 1992 included both the pinnacle and the downhill destruction of my very first love. It also marked a period of time before my whole life would take a new course, forever pointing to where I am at this moment. Man, was he beautiful. Even with his fake blue contacts, I still loved that face. I loved his timid contrast to my brazenness and I loved how we matched in so many other ways. I loved his family and I loved that my family loved him, especially my little Angie. If only I knew then how amazing it was to be young and in love, that we didn’t have to hurry life along.
