Day 40 - Keep On Movin' (Soul to Soul)
Keep On Movin’ is sort of an anthem, ushering in the hopeful but scary nineties from the bouncy pop and aloofness of the eighties. Even within the video, the dancers in color seem to represent what is, while the dancers in black and white seem to symbolize a foreshadowing of the unknown quality of the end of the century. It’s not quite a dance song, and it’s not quite a ballad. It’s sung beautifully by Caron Wheeler, and the string arrangements are mesmerizingly infectious. There’s a sensuality to the sound that, to me, makes it the kind of song to play on repeat in the background.
