Day 10 - Breakout (Swing Out Sister)

From the first opening beats of percussion, I am in love with Breakout by Swing Out Sister. It’s a very dated song; it sounds exactly like the era to which it belongs, but for me, I hear only love! I am immediately transported to Jayne’s little truck, sitting in the parking lot of Mel Weitz’s Foodtown, the two of us miming the act of squeezing zits at each other like the children we were. And in the scope of life, we really were just children in 1987. I can never hear this song and think of anything else, but when I do, hear it my heart is immediately lifted. This song represents a lifelong friendship. I hope when she hears it, her heart is lifted as well!
