Day 12 - Doctor Doctor (Thompson Twins)

It’s a pretty odd choice, by a group known primarily for their major crossover pop hit Hold Me Now, but for me the best song by eighties New Wave band Thompson Twins is Doctor! Doctor! And, frankly, the song itself is pretty basic and nondescript, but midway through, at around 2 mins 41 secs in, the song comes alive with everything that’s amazing about the eighties and New Wave music in general – synths for days, echoing percussions, and an amazing harmonic convergence of Tom and Alannah’s voices. It’s that magical, beautiful moment that makes me love this song and put it on repeat!
