Day 15 - Stay I Missed You (Lisa Loeb And Nine Days)
Beautiful in its quiet plainness. To me this is one of the best pop ballads of the ninties, a true one-hit wonder that helped energize the rise of female pop artists. Lisa and her horn-rimmed glasses have HAD IT, and she is moving on, and she is tired of being held back because he tells her to. There’s something mesmerizing about a scene in a film, or in this case a music video, being shot all in one take. It lends to the striking simplicity of the song. It gives you the sense that she can’t be free, she can’t get away, but yet at the end, she does.
