Day 33 - I Saw The Light / Hello It’s Me (Todd Rundgren)
Continuing along the lines of childhood memories, these two Rundgren gems are right in the sweet spot of my A.M. Radio memories. Mom, Sis, Greg and Linda. I Saw The Light is, by far, one of those that brings me right back to the park, to the trees, to my sister and my mom. I think I could lose myself in the tambourine toward the end of the song. Hello, It’s Me, however, is more of a throwback. I remember it as a kid, but it came about more prevalently for me as an adult, maybe some time in the nineties when I was in my era of self-discovery. The root is still nostalgia, but the sound was still so current and it could have been a song on the radio at the moment. This is one of those moments in music history that is just perfection. Beautiful harmonies, melancholy but bittersweet lyrics.
