Day 16 - Take It Easy On Me (Little River Band)

Today’s song features another repeat band, from down under, Little River Band. Cool Change is, by far, one of my favorite songs of all time, of any genre. But clearly I have always loved the music from this later seventies-early eighties band. Take It Easy On Me is another such song: gritty guitar, sweet, soaring vocals, beautiful harmonies. I love how it starts out as a almost acapella ballad as lead singer Wayne Nelson sings with a piano, and as he breaks into the chorus, in swells the music. I don’t have many fond memories of that early time when we first moved to Pocono Country Place, but this song resonates as one, and it connects me to longtime friend Connie Neff, who was always nice to this, new kid, and helped make life less miserable on that bus ride to and from school.
