Significant Hoomans

I am a sucker for a saxophone solo, or a song that features any kind of saxophone. You should know this about me. Today’s song does NOT disappoint in that department. This is What You Won’t Do For Love, by jazz artist Bobby Caldwell, one of those artists whose voice is so smooth and jazz-perfect that you haven’t a clue he’s actually a white guy. His song is a stand-out, in a sea of music by the likes of Boz Scaggs and other yacht rock giants. This is one of those old gems that still sounds as good today as the first day you ever heard it. It’s been covered by other artists, but nothing really comes close to the horn-laden original. This is a repeat-worthy song, especially the extended version that isn’t always heard on the radio. It’s timeless musical syrup and I love it.
