Come To Me (France Joli) - Day 12

This is the disco song to which I alluded in my blog for song 47, this giant from France Joli. It was my connection to back home, the song my childhood friend Jan loved, and whenever I heard it on K.T.U., it helped me feel like I was still a part of that old life. Amidst that late seventies – early eighties, disco is dead, nonsense, France Joli’s sexy anthem about being there for her friend helped me know dance music, no matter what it’s called, wasn’t going anywhere. When I hear of someone who also loves this song, I know I will immediately love them. Just ask my sister-in-law Margie! But the one person who I know will always perk up when she hears this is my Jan. We have our amazing shared memories of being teenagers in her house in Lynbrook, when I would come back from the Poconos for the weekend. We would groove together and just laugh, and feel the love of friendship. That’s a memory that I hope never fades away, for either of us.
