Feels Like The First Time (Foreigner) / I Want To Know What Love Is (Foreigner) - Day 15
In nineteen seventy-seven, Foreigner released their self-titled debut album. Talk about an instant classic. Great songs, great memories. Feels Like The First Time, is one of my favorite songs ever, by any band. I would secretly borrow, my brother Mike’s album and play it and play it and play it. As much as I was lip-synching BeeGees and Olivia into hairbrushes in the mirror, I was really singing this one as loud as I could. It has nothing to do with the lyrics, it was just the overall (no pun intended) feel of the song. It’s just that good. I also loved Star Rider, but it doesn’t really hold up now. I liked it as a kid because I was really into the Micronauts, and the song made me daydream about being a super-hero in outer space. Honorable mention, and worth adding to the list is, I Want To Know What Love Is, from the later part of nineteen eighty-four, when I was that scared, confused, college gay tard, tripping over himself in the dorm hallways. Lou Gramm’s vocals are so amazing, I really felt like he was speaking what was in my mind.
